SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

BIRSTON, PAUL

Paul has been serving God, His church and others in many ways since 1987: evangelism, youth ministry, preaching, teaching, missions, street ministry, writing and personal care, even moving furniture and washing walls. As a full-time faculty and Dean at Great Lakes Bible College many of you know him very well. He has served the College since 2007 and continues to pour into those under his tutelage. To enhance his servant skills Paul studied for three graduate degrees in Bible, preaching and congregational ministry. 


BROWN, NATHAN

Nathan serves as a full-time faculty member at Great Lakes Bible College. Many of you already know Nathan well and have experienced his keen biblical insight (as well as sharp sense of humor) through the courses he has taught or by hearing him preach at congregations throughout Ontario and Canada. Originally from Georgia, Nathan resides in Waterloo, Ontario during the school year. He completed his MA at Faulkner University and, in 2020 received his Ph. D. from McMaster Divinity College. 


DAVISON, ROY

After studying Dutch in Holland for two years, Roy has been preaching in Flanders, Belgium since 1965. He also evangelizes via the Internet, publishing 26 websites (in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Russian) including, "The Old Paths Archive", "What is the Truth About God?", and "Acts for Today". He earned part of his support as a free-lance Dutch-to-English translator for 44 years. More than 400 of his books and articles are on the Internet in English and Dutch.


HOLSTON, JIM
Jim currently resides in Houston, TX and has served at Impact Church of Christ since 2017. Jim has worked in the preaching ministry and college teaching, serving churches and schools in different parts of the United States and Canada, including our very own GLBC. A native of Indiana, he is married to Kathy and they have two adult children, James and Marianne and three grandchildren.


FRASER, RYAN

Ryan holds a Master’s in Ministry, Master’s in Divinity, and a Ph.D. in Pastoral Theology and Pastoral Counseling from Brite Divinity School (at Texas Christian University). He is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Therapist and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Dr. Fraser directs the Masters in Pastoral Care and Counseling program at Freed-Hardeman University.


KNUTSON, DAVE

Dave has many years of preaching experience including his current work with the Bayview Church of Christ. He has given many excellent lessons at lectureships and gospel seminars.  He served as an elder with the Waterloo congregation and now serves as an elder for the Barrie congregation.  Currently, he is the receiving editor of the Gospel Herald publication.


LYONS, ERIC

Eric has authored or co-authored more than 20 books, including The Anvil Rings: Answers to Alleged Bible Discrepancies (Volumes 1-3), The Defenders Series (Volumes 1-3), Reasons to Believe, Truth Be Told, and Wonders of God’s Creation. In addition, he writes for the Apologetics Press website, which receives millions of page views annually from users around the globe. Eric loves to teach and preach about the fundamentals of Christianity, and frequently speaks at seminars and Gospel meetings around the country. 


MORPHY, PETER

Peter grew up in Niagara Falls, Ontario and his parents became Christians through the teaching of Henry Boland in the mid-1970's. Peter went to Great Lakes Christian High School (1977-1981) and Great Lakes Bible College (1981-1983). He served in the church at Strathmore, Hamilton, and Sudbury before moving to Arizona to work as an Involvement Minister. Peter and Judy have lived in Metro Detroit for the past 15 years, where Peter preaches for the Royal Oak Church of Christ. They have three grown children and one granddaughter. He has been serving on the college's Board for the past few years.


MULLIGAN, SAM

Sam is a recent graduate at Great Lakes Bible College. He is a member at the Omagh church of Christ where he preaches and teaches Bible classes. Sam also gained valuable ministry experience in the summer of 2020, giving bi-weekly sermons for Pine Hill church of Christ in Sault Ste. Marie. Currently, he hosts the Key to the Kingdom program under Strathmore Blvd church of Christ in Toronto, Ontario.


NOLLERT, DIETER

Dieter is an elder at Waterloo church of Christ and a GLBC board member. Dieter and his family are compassionate servants of God encouraging and helping many people in spiritual and practical ways. 


RAMSEY, CHAD

Chad preaches in Tupelo, MS. He came to Canada to do our "Reasons to Believe" seminar and teach Christian Creative Writing at Omagh Bible Camp. Chad is the author of In His Image, Reasons to Believe and the Foundations Series of Bible lessons for the Gospel Advocate.


SALISBURY, THAYER

Thayer currently resides in Eswatini, Africa along with his wife Cheryl. He is writing a series of books specifically for use in Bible colleges across Africa in language appropriately accessible and applicable in the African context. As part of the teaching content, Thayer writes “a number of narratives inserted in the text to help the reader see how the biblical teaching apply in Africa today.” Thayer is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University (B.A.), Abilene Christian University (M.A.) and Concordia Theological Seminary (Ph.D.). He and his wife Cheryl are blessed with four (4) sons and eight (8) grandchildren.


VELASCO, MOISES

Moises is an alumni of Great Lakes Bible College.  He has been over to the Philippines numerous times since he graduated, teaching them about God's Word.  He continues to teach at his home congregation, the Strathmore Boulevard Church of Christ, where he is a long-standing member and elder.


WALLIN, MATT

Matt is from House to House Heart to Heart, a monthly magazine produced by  the East Ridge church of Christ in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The magazine sends the Gospel to all 50 states and 110+ foreign countries, and is now published in English, Spanish, French, Korean, Nepali, Serbian, Urdu, and several Indian dialects.
