Foundational Certificates
Our Foundational Certificates offer students an opportunity to complete a short-term, non-degree program personalized to meet a wide range of goals, from training for church and congregational leadership to learning Biblical languages and more.
Build Your Own Curriculum
Students pursuing a Foundational Certificate will have the option to access a newly designed specialization that allows them to tailor their coursework in areas such as Youth and Family Ministry, Church/Congregational leadership, Biblical Languages, Evangelism & Missions and Church History. This customized approach allows students to develop skills and competencies that match their personal interests and contribute to their life of service wherever they are called.
Candidates may select a combination of courses from our Bible, Ministry, and Worldview streams plus complete a one semester Ministry Experience course to meet the requirement of 16 credit hours.
A Foundational Certificate may be completed over the course of one term and up to 2 years, allowing students the ability to tailor coursework to their schedule. See our suggested course requirements below.
How Long Will It Take?
Depending on the availability of the courses you choose, and the timeline you want to set for yourself, your Foundational Certificate may take between 6 months to 2 years.

How Much Does It Cost?
- Our courses are very affordable—up to 20% of the tuition of comparable university programs.
- A Foundational Certificate Program equaling 16 hours costs only $1600 CAD.
- If you have a demonstrated financial need, you may apply to the GLBC Bursary after enrollment.
