GENERATION TO GENERATION

A GLBC campaign to educate Christians on Planned Giving to benefit any and all ministries close to their hearts or their local congregations.

Just as we've been blessed by those that came before us,

Generation to Generation encourages Christians today  to think about and plan on how we can bless generations to come.

The campaign, through financial planning, will equip Christians to plan for the near future, as well as to think about leaving a spiritual impact and physical gifts from one generation of the church to the generations to come- be it their local church or a ministry close to their heart.

MAKE A PLEDGE TODAY!

What will the next generation remember?

Think back to the people who built the foundation of your faith. Perhaps it was a Sunday School teacher, a grandparent, or the visionary members who built the sanctuary where you worship today.

We are all part of a living chain of faith. The “Generation to Generation” initiative is our way of ensuring that the Gospel continues to flourish long after we have finished our race.

Leaving a legacy gift in your will isn’t just about finances; it’s a final testimony of what you value most. It’s a way to say, “I believe in the future of this ministry.”

Together with other Christian Ministries, we're introducing the "Generation to Generation" challenge! Consider make a pledge—a meaningful gift—not for today, but for the faithful generations who will follow us.

Will you prayerfully consider including your local church or another Christian Ministry in your estate planning?

Planting seeds for trees you may never sit under

When you leave a gift to GLBC, you aren’t just giving to a fund—you are investing in lives.

You don’t need to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Whether it’s a specific amount, a percentage of an estate, or a life insurance policy, every gift ensures that the light of Christ continues to shine in our community.

A legacy gift can:

  • Endow scholarships for willing students. For example, our GLBC Sponsorship Fund is committed to ensure that finances never stand in the way of God’s calling.

  • Support Full-Time Ministry of Staff and Faculty. Gifts to the Bible Teacher Fund ensure that these faithful servants can continue dedicating their time and energy to the good works God has entrusted to them- not just teaching, but they also mentor, shepherd, counsel, preach, study, and serve.

  • Sustainable Funding. Planned gifts secure an GLBC’s future by promising future funding, which can be used to plan and budget for long-term goals. Our Board has committed long term plans to invest planned gifts to ensure the future of this educational ministry.

Why Consider A Legacy Gift?

Financial planning is not just about money—it’s also about aligning one’s financial life with their Faith. It’s important for donors to work with professional financial advisors to develop a customized strategy that aligns with their personal financial and philanthropic goals, reflecting their current financial circumstances.

Benefits for Donors

  1. Peace of Mind & Preparation for the Future: While our ultimate peace comes from our connection to God through Christ, knowing that finances are in order can also bring a kind of peace of mind.
  2. Tax Deductions: Donors can often maximize tax deductions by strategically incorporating charitable giving into their financial plans.
  3. Minimizing Estate Taxes: Planned gifts can help minimize estate taxes, potentially leaving more for heirs.
  4. Financial Planning: Charitable giving can be a part of one’s long-term financial strategy, providing a source of income during retirement or helping to meet other financial goals. Button: Generation To Generation Listen to my interview with Roy Williams and Melba Belo about Planned Giving.

How to Meet the Challenge

  1. Prayerfully consider how you've been impacted by generations past and how you might be able to support.
  2. Plan a gift OR Learn more about making a gift.
  3. Talk to a qualified financial advisor and/or lawyer before making a gift · For examples, see the GLBC Estate Planning Guide.
  4. Make it known. While we want to be generous and not self serving in our giving, it’s worthwhile to consider sharing information about your planned gift.
  5. Let the congregation or ministry know that you’ve made plans. This will allow them to carefully consider how to best use that gift for God’s glory. If you wish, let us know at Generation To Generation. This may encourage others to also share for the next generation.

Did you know?

While the cost of living continues to rise, we know the value of the average Canadian Estate is rising, as the value of many homes are worth more; Good financial planning that includes a charitable gift can help to ease the financial burden when it comes time to settle an estate.
